Sharang is currently the Market Leader for Nielsen India (South Zone) and Sri Lanka. In this role, Sharang leads the commercial engagement for Nielsen with clients across sectors, creating new business opportunities, and developing talent and culture. Sharang also leads the Retail Vertical at Nielsen South Asia helping retailers on their business objectives.
In the 18 years he has spent with Nielsen, Sharang has been involved across a plethora of assignments for a large spectrum of clients constituting local and multinational entities across numerous sectors like Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Products, Retail, Infrastructure, BFSI and Telecom in India, Vietnam, China and now Sri Lanka.
Sharang has been a part of key Business Process Improvement projects as an executioner in India and a sponsor during his stint in Vietnam.
Sharang was also on the Nielsen Green Executive Board as Lead for India Region working on Environmental Sustainability initiatives.
Sharang attended University in Mumbai, India where he graduated with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Sharang acquired a Diploma in Marketing Management with specialization in Pharmaceutical Marketing.
Sharang also dedicates a significant portion of his life to service of the community with various roles within Rotary International. Sharang also completed The Landmark Educations’ curriculum for living.
Sharang resides in Bangalore, India with his wife and two lovely daughters. Sharang is a music and travel enthusiast and an avid speaker at various business, commerce and social events.
